So lets see since my last post.... ....
My 14 year old has graduated the 8th grade (yikes he is growing fast, I love you and am so proud of your accomplishments)
My 11 year old has discovered her green thumb and has dreams of one day feeding the world with her new found talent (love it sweetheart you have such a caring personality I believe you can do it)
My 9 year old has decided riding a horse is fun fun fun (you are such an adventurous soul I love you)
And my youngest has had her first birthday and discovered that ice cream push pops are the perfect thing on a hot summer day. (Happy Birthday my little one)
And lets see what is coming soon to our life... ...
My Mom will be here soon, we are so excited to spend some time with her this summer. Its always so nice to have her visit us and we always hate to see her get back on that plane and head back home.
My garden was vandilized by the deer, they seem to love my tomatoe plants and will move heaven and earth to get to them. We are trying something different with our last attempt this season. Hopefully there will be time for them to produce this year still. We have planted some right off of our back porch in large containers. If this works, I think next year we will just do a container garden right behind the house of the back porch as the deer seem to avoid that area. They love to nibble on my flowers in the front of the house though, lol you can see them peeking in the front window nibbling away at times. I swear they are taunting me. hee hee hee
Have a great weekend and hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

My sweet little one !!
~ A new cake stand ~
So I have been wanting to buy a few cake stands to have around when we have cake. Well my Mom sent me a link with directions for a make it yourself cake stand and I couldn't wait to give it a try.
Off to the local thrift store to find a plate and bowl that would work.
Then the store for some glue, I decided to use the two part epoxy since the stands could potentially get put into a dishwasher some where in their future travels and I just think that the superglue might wear off under that type of pressure.
And I can really see many combinations of plates and bowls to make some more cute stands. I like the idea of using a larger bowl so it could be turned upside down on the table to hold other stuff when not being used as a cake stand. Or the idea of using a baby pink or blue to put a diaper cake on to take to a baby shower, or a color to match someones kitchen when you go to a dinner party and are asked to bring dessert. This is a great idea for a hostess gift or to just make and keep to display your own yummy creations. :)I will be keeping my eyes open for plates and bowls now at yard sales as well. I can see many cake stands above my cupboards all around the kitchen very soon. hee hee hee
Thanks for reading and have a great day,

Oui gooey yummy Ice Cream goodness!!
So we bought the Kitchen Aid ice cream attachment for our mixer. I was a little Leary since some of the reviews said it did not work well with the non-lifter version of the mixer (the tilt head version), which is the style I have. But I figured I love my mixer, and if they did such a great job with it why would they create an inferior ice cream attachment?? So bought it. :)
Let me tell you ~ the ice cream was oh so yummy. :) We decided to go with the basic French Vanilla recipe that was in the book that came with the attachment. It is a very simple yet tasty recipe. I really can not wait to try our next batch this weekend. The kiddos love the endless possibilities, and the hubby and I love the fact that we control what it going into this sweet treat to make it a not so unhealthy dessert option. I think we are going to all have to take turns creating some flavors, or make up several batches at once. hmmmmmm decisions decisions. We of course could not leave it so simple, so we added broken up Resses cups and some marshmallow cream. If you know me you know I wanted to add more, chocolate, Carmel and ?? who knows maybe some brownies lol.
However if you know the Hubby he is the type who likes his ice cream simple. So we went with just the two add ins.
And as you can see he was very happy with the results. (Doesn't he look like a kid in a candy store. hee hee hee)
However once in my bowl I added my chocolate and caramel syrup. :)
The littlest one cant have any yet but she sure loved her teething cookie. :) Not sure if she is wearing more than she ate.
My oldest daughter also is like me but she choose to add chocolate and strawberry to hers and she really liked it as you can see. :) This was her reaction to me asking if she liked it. lol
The other kiddos were to busy eating the ice cream to smile for a photo this time. lol Maybe the next batch they will if I hold the ice cream out of reach until they pose for a photo. hee hee Talk to you soon,

Hair clippies for the little one!
I decided to make some little clippies for my youngest and for my niece as Christmas presents. I have been to every baby store in the city and none of the barrettes or clips would work in her hair. After doing a little searching on the web and thinking of my own, I came up with these.
And here is a photo of my little one showing off her pretties. :) Such a cutie, isn't she.
We have pretty much spent most of the last month around the house due to the snow we got right before Christmas and through out the end of the year. Here is a photo of my mail box poking out of the snow. :)
Well I hear the timer going off so I better go pull the dinner out of the oven.
Happy stitching,
