Its always so nice to have her visit us and we always hate to see her get back on that plane and head back home.<br />My garden was vandilized by the deer, they seem to love my tomatoe plants and will move heaven and earth to get to them. We are trying something different with our last attempt this season. Hopefully there will be time for them to produce this year still. We have planted some right off of our back porch in large containers. If this works, I think next year we will just do a container garden right behind the house of the back porch as the deer seem to avoid that area. They love to nibble on my flowers in the front of the house though, lol you can see them peeking in the front window nibbling away at times. I swear they are taunting me. hee hee hee<br /><br />Have a great weekend and hope everyone is enjoying their summer.<br />~ K ~Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5806979691348005147.post-56937643949950023512009-01-31T20:52:00.000-08:002009-01-31T20:59:06.913-08:00My sweet little one !!<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYUq8sN71_I/AAAAAAAAAIQ/9a7u7-0mkbI/s1600-h/p14394ta101636_2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297687758821382130" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYUq8sN71_I/AAAAAAAAAIQ/9a7u7-0mkbI/s320/p14394ta101636_2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div>I finally made it into the photo studio to get my little ones pictures taken.........I know I know she is 8 months old already, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">geeeze</span> I took long enough. :)</div><br /><div>But isn't she just the cutest little one you have ever seen. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">hee</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">hee</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">hee</span></div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297687751292354530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 256px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYUq8QK3_-I/AAAAAAAAAII/ZXAphyd3X4U/s320/p14394ta101636_1_0.jpg" border="0" /></div><br /><div>She is such a cutie. Well my Mom sent me a <a href="http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2008/10/easy_cake_stand_craft_video_po.html">link</a> with directions for a make it yourself cake stand and I couldn't wait to give it a try. </span></strong><br /><br /><div><div><div><div><div><strong><span style="font-size:130%;">Off to the local thrift store to find a plate and bowl that would work.</span></strong></div><div><strong><span style="font-size:130%;"></span></strong></div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297685266932828370" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYUorpNaCNI/AAAAAAAAAHo/GpRiQBRZmxg/s200/IMG_7161.JPG" border="0" /> <div><strong><span style="font-size:130%;">Then the store for some glue, I decided to use the two part epoxy since the stands could <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">potentially</span> get put into a dishwasher some where in their future travels and I just think that the superglue might wear off under that type of pressure.</span></strong></div><div><strong><span style="font-size:130%;"></span></strong></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297685259807618178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYUorOqn9II/AAAAAAAAAHY/M0bUGHMrYxc/s200/IMG_7172.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297685268175577474" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYUort1s4YI/AAAAAAAAAHw/7Hatoj95Ebs/s200/IMG_7169k.jpg" border="0" /> <div><strong><span style="font-size:130%;">And I can really see many <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">combinations</span> of plates and bowls to make some more cute stands. I like the idea of using a larger bowl so it could be turned upside down on the table to hold other stuff when not being used as a cake stand. Or the idea of using a baby pink or blue to put a diaper cake on to take to a baby shower, or a color to match someones kitchen when you go to a dinner party and are asked to bring dessert. This is a great idea for a hostess gift or to just make and keep to display your own yummy creations. :)</span></strong><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297685270661555234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 172px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYUor3GZ5CI/AAAAAAAAAH4/qdK4YAblDXw/s200/cake+stand.jpg" border="0" />I will be keeping my eyes open for plates and bowls now at yard sales as well. I can see many cake stands above my cupboards all around the kitchen very soon. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">hee</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">hee</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">hee</span></div><div> </div><div>Thanks for reading and have a great day,</div><div>~ K ~<br /><br /><br /><br /></div><div></div></div></div></div></div>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5806979691348005147.post-78666150169072526262009-01-29T09:57:00.001-08:002009-01-29T10:58:26.945-08:00Oui gooey yummy Ice Cream goodness!!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296785427833938322" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYH2SHWB4ZI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/rGjXdJLWyKw/s200/IMG_7134.JPG" border="0" /> <div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><span style="font-family:verdana;">So we bought the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KICA0WH-Cream-Maker-Attachment/dp/B0002IES80/ref=pd_sim_hg_njs_4">Kitchen Aid ice cream attachment </a>for our mixer. I was a little <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Leary</span> since some of the reviews said it did not work well with the non-lifter version of the mixer (the tilt head <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">version</span>), which is the style I have. But I figured I love my mixer, and if they did such a great job with it why would they create an inferior ice cream attachment?? So bought it. :)</span></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296790021054023938" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYH6debCSQI/AAAAAAAAAGw/qyEham96MDM/s200/Ice+cream+testing.jpg" border="0" />Let me tell you ~ the ice cream was oh so yummy. :) We decided to go with the basic French Vanilla recipe that was in the book that came with the attachment. It is a very simple yet tasty recipe. I really can not wait to try our next batch this weekend. The kiddos love the endless <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">possibilities</span>, and the hubby and I love the fact that we control what it going into this sweet <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">treat</span> to make it a not so unhealthy dessert option. I think we are going to all have to take turns creating some flavors, or make up several batches at once. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">hmmmmmm</span> decisions decisions.<br /><br /><div>We of course could not leave it so simple, so we added broken up <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Resses</span> cups and some marshmallow cream. If you know me you know I wanted to add more, chocolate, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Carmel</span> and ?? who knows maybe some brownies <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">lol</span>. </div><br /><div>However if you know the Hubby he is the type who likes his ice cream simple. So we went with just the two add ins. <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296790022459330066" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYH6djqFjhI/AAAAAAAAAG4/BpuOljbG_80/s200/IMG_7141.JPG" border="0" /></div><div></div><div>And as you can see he was very happy with the results. (Doesn't he look like a kid in a candy store. hee hee hee)<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296785441222837986" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYH2S5OMRuI/AAAAAAAAAGg/q_IbAObhabg/s200/IMG_7145.JPG" border="0" /></div><div>However once in my bowl I added my chocolate and caramel syrup. :) </div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296790027948893650" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYH6d4G5pdI/AAAAAAAAAHA/zpUigL90FIE/s200/IMG_7142.JPG" border="0" />The littlest one cant have any yet but she sure loved her teething cookie. :) Not sure if she is wearing more than she ate.<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296790030434745330" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYH6eBXku_I/AAAAAAAAAHQ/-rW3lC7gr1w/s200/IMG_7157.JPG" border="0" /> <div>My oldest daughter also is like me but she choose to add chocolate and strawberry to hers and she really liked it as you can see. :) This was her reaction to me asking if she liked it. lol<br /><br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296785442585253826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 198px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SYH2S-TBF8I/AAAAAAAAAGo/a8W3wtXD_w4/s200/Yummy+icecream.jpg" border="0" />The other kiddos were to busy eating the ice cream to smile for a photo this time. lol Maybe the next batch they will if I hold the ice cream out of reach until they pose for a photo. hee hee </div><div> </div><div>Talk to you soon,</div><div>~ K ~<br /></div><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5806979691348005147.post-31929423940229246332009-01-17T16:56:00.000-08:002009-01-17T17:18:30.740-08:00Hair clippies for the little one!<span style="font-family:verdana;">I decided to make some little <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">clippies</span> for my youngest and for my <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">niece</span> as Christmas presents. She is such a cutie with a full head of dark hair and the cutest little baby face.<br /><br />We have been getting buried in snow here for the last week and it started with a record snow fall last Thursday and has only stopped snowing here and there a few times. The hubby is outside plowing the driveway AGAIN. I have lost track of how many times he has been out plowing but it has been <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">alot</span>. :)<br /><br />As much as we have gotten it sure is pretty and serene looking out there so cant really complain to much.<br /><br />The kids are loving the snow and Christmas break too. Since we got so much snow by Thursday morning they cancelled school and then again they cancelled Friday to so they were thrilled. :)<br /><br />Was telling my Mom the other day how the littlest one loves to take her larger teething rings and put them on her legs and then she grabs the little one and chews on it. It is such a cute site and I finally caught her today doing it so here is a photo. I just love the colors and it will go with my collection quite nicely. Thanks Mom. :)</span><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237980227531745362" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SLELQ9KMqFI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/kECsgyzbwVs/s200/pc+gift.jpg" border="0" /> <span style="font-size:130%;"></span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">Speaking of Pin cushions I was at an auction the other day and managed to buy two nice rocking chair pincushions, I had tried to buy one at a previous sale and was outbid so was very happy to get both of them. Once I get them cleaned up one will be added to my collection and the other will be winging its way south to my Moms collection. :) I love these, they have a spot in the back for scissors, both sides hold three spools of thread, and lots of room for pin sticking. :) Perfect for sitting in front of the tv and stitching some stuff by hand or for a quick little mending job..... </span><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237980230205457762" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SLELRHHqRWI/AAAAAAAAAFY/ZuPUVu3o2Fg/s200/Pincushions.jpg" border="0" /> <span style="font-size:130%;"></span><br /><span style="font-size:130%;">Another little goodie that I had completely forgotten was a birthday swap that I joined at the end of last year..... I got that package in the mail the day before my birthday and it was such a great suprise. I love all of the stickpins and cute bug fabric and buttons that came with it as well. What a special treat this was.</span> <div><span style="font-size:130%;"></span></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237980208926201794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SLELP32Sl8I/AAAAAAAAAE4/s-mn7ZGLdsA/s200/Bday+swap.jpg" border="0" /><span style="font-size:130%;">My littlest one has discovered dollies, lol she loves this dolly (it is one of the topsy turvy ones that you pull the dress up over the one head and another head is underneath. My 8 year old was all strapped in and at the last minute decided that it just was not for her (which is really a suprise since she is the fearless one) but the other two older ones loved it and could not quit talking about it for the rest of the day. They got to ride in a Beechcraft Baron. Thanks to the wonderful flight instructors that donated their time to get the kiddos interested in flying. <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5229764770733150178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SJPbWbpmz-I/AAAAAAAAADQ/M95ukSWBFAg/s200/IMG_5383.JPG" border="0" /></span></div><br /><br /><div><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">While my Mom was here we just had to take a trip to the local thrift store as well.... well here are my thrift store finds a curtain with a pretty ruffle (I have a plan for this and if all goes well will be posting the after photos soon) and two chunks of some really pretty pink, brown and green double sided quilted fabric. I really wish she lived closer but since she does not it is nice to have her visit for a month each summer.<br /></span><div><br /><div><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">So my Mom made a quilt for me when I was preggo. Was so sweet of her, I called her up while sitting in a blood lab waiting for the next round of tests that I had to remain in the waiting room for a certain time period. I was looking through a magazine and saw this pink nursery setup and decided right there I really wanted to do the crib in Pinks and Browns (which for me is funny since I have never been fond of the color Pink). So I drew up an idea, emailed it to Mom and sent her the fabrics I wanted to use and this is what she created. I love it.....</span></div><br /><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5218509744655442658" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SGve9sMaIuI/AAAAAAAAACI/TclxAfb_fZI/s200/IMG_4635.JPG" border="0" /></div></div><br /><p><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">She also made me a diaper bag since I was not into any of the other commercial style bags out there. And this one is perfect since I will be able to use it a purse long after she has grown beyond the diaper bag needing age. :)</span></p><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5218511194465739922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SGvgSFKHpJI/AAAAAAAAACQ/uQpSFLVGeRc/s200/diaper_bag.jpg" border="0" /></p><br /><p></p><p>She just started blogging as well you can check out her page <a href="http://ncfabricjunkie.blogspot.com/">http://ncfabricjunkie.blogspot.com/</a></p><p>So thank you Mom you are the best. :)</p><p>Ok off to find something fun for the munchkins to do and get some work done. :)</p><p>K</p>Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5806979691348005147.post-70363178347689238412008-06-22T10:44:00.001-07:002008-06-22T11:00:23.253-07:00Some photos of flowers....<a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6S886Xg7I/AAAAAAAAABg/MagraEg6qQM/s1600-h/IMG_3380.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214766994382357426" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6S886Xg7I/AAAAAAAAABg/MagraEg6qQM/s200/IMG_3380.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6S9YcFeCI/AAAAAAAAABo/rqoWn1nJ00s/s1600-h/IMG_3363.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214767001771538466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6S9YcFeCI/AAAAAAAAABo/rqoWn1nJ00s/s200/IMG_3363.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6S9hNvCoI/AAAAAAAAABw/lzvH04np9y4/s1600-h/IMG_3378.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214767004127267458" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6S9hNvCoI/AAAAAAAAABw/lzvH04np9y4/s200/IMG_3378.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6S-FeisOI/AAAAAAAAAB4/JmJ8Xpti-5k/s1600-h/IMG_3372.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214767013861437666" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6S-FeisOI/AAAAAAAAAB4/JmJ8Xpti-5k/s200/IMG_3372.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;font-size:130%;color:#009900;"><strong><em>I wanted to share some of last years floral photos. :<span style="color:#ff0000;">)</span> I hope to get this yard in shape and have flowers everywhere eventually. :<span style="color:#ff0000;">)</span></em></strong></span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="color:#009900;"></span><a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6RJo8RtBI/AAAAAAAAABY/WCnosV4cMK8/s1600-h/IMG_3207.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214765013336699922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6RJo8RtBI/AAAAAAAAABY/WCnosV4cMK8/s200/IMG_3207.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6QKtvxIaI/AAAAAAAAABQ/cSGz0AIH6LE/s1600-h/IMG_3395.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214763932294652322" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_z_9IIyxW6GU/SF6QKtvxIaI/AAAAAAAAABQ/cSGz0AIH6LE/s200/IMG_3395.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:arial;font-size:130%;color:#ff0000;"><strong>I just love Poppies in bloom. </strong></span></div><br /><br /><p><span style="font-family:arial;font-size:130%;color:#ff0000;"><strong>I cant wait for the ones in my yard to start blooming this year.
